PT Mitsubishi Motors Krama Yudha Sales Indonesia (MMKSI) has officially launched its first electrified vehicle with Hybrid Electric Vehicle (HEV) technology in the Indonesian market, the XForce, priced from around Rp 400 million.

MMKSI President Director Atsushi Kurita stated that the arrival of this environmentally friendly vehicle marks a commitment to the company’s journey in the Indonesian automotive market and serves as an important milestone. “The presence of this model further expands mobility choices for customers while maintaining the trust, reliability, and driving performance that are hallmarks of Mitsubishi Motors,” said Atsushi Kurita during the launch in Jakarta on Thursday.

He added that the XForce HEV is more than just the introduction of electrification technology. The New Xforce HEV, produced at PT Mitsubishi Motors Krama Yudha Indonesia (MMKI), signifies a strategic step for MMKSI in strengthening Indonesia’s role as a production and export base for HEV vehicles for both domestic and global markets.

The conventional variant is powered by a petrol engine capable of producing up to 107 PS with a maximum torque of 134 Nm. The system is designed so that the electric motor becomes the main driving force at low speeds, while the petrol engine operates when additional power is needed or to charge the battery. Mitsubishi’s second-generation hybrid system works automatically by adjusting the use of the electric motor and petrol engine based on road conditions, vehicle speed, load, and battery capacity. During deceleration or braking, energy is regenerated into electricity to charge the battery.

Mitsubishi has also equipped the New Xforce HEV with seven driving modes: Normal, Wet, Gravel, Mud, Tarmac, EV Priority, and Charge. The addition of these three new modes allows the driver to maximise electric power usage, charge the battery when needed, or obtain a more aggressive driving response on paved roads.

In the safety sector, the SUV is equipped with Mitsubishi Safety Sensing, which includes Forward Collision Mitigation (FCM), Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) with low-speed follow, Blind Spot Warning (BSW), Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA), Lane Change Assist (LCA), Automatic High Beam (AHB), Leading Car Departure Notification (LCDN), and Multi Around Monitor (MAM).

Inside the cabin, Mitsubishi has introduced several enhancements, including a frameless panoramic roof, rear seats with eight comfort adjustments, dual-zone automatic AC with NanoeX, a power driver seat, a power tailgate, ambient lighting, and a Yamaha Premium audio system on certain variants.

The New Xforce is marketed in three variants: Exceed, Ultimate, and HEV. During the launch period, MMKSI is offering special on-the-road prices for the Jabodetabek area of Rp 388 million for the Exceed, Rp 399 million for the Ultimate, and Rp 445 million for the HEV variant. The Ultimate and HEV variants are also available with a Premium Package that adds features such as Yamaha Premium Audio, a wireless charger, TPMS, and various other comfort devices.
