Mitsubishi to recall 2,446 wagons
TOKYO: Japanese automaker Mitsubishi Motors Corp. will recall
2,446 Delica station wagons due to a seatbelt defect, the company
and the Ministry of Transport said on Tuesday.
A defective spindle could result in a seatbelt failing to lock
properly and could fail to restrain a passenger or a child seat
in the case of an accident, Mitsubishi said.
Mitsubishi had received one complaint regarding the defect,
but received no report of accidents related to the fault, the
transport ministry said.
The affected 2,446 vehicles were produced between April 2002
through July this year, the ministry said. -AFP
