Mitsubishi boosts output
TOKYO (AFP): Japan's Mitsubishi Motors Corp. said it was
considering upgrading its plants in the Philippines and Thailand
to meet rising demand there.
Mitsubishi is considering raising its capacity in the
Philippines to up to 57,500 units a year from the current annual
output of 37,500 units at a cost of up to 500 million yen (five
million dollars), company officials said.
In Thailand, the company intends to invest four billion yen to
expand its production of one-ton pickup trucks to 60,000 units a
year from the current 34,000 units.
