Jakarta — PT Dayamitra Telekomunikasi Tbk (Mitratel) has entered into a collaboration with PT ZTE Indonesia to explore the development of network efficiency solutions and related technologies in Indonesia.

This marks the initial step of a partnership between the two companies aimed at establishing a collaborative framework focused on exploring new technologies, evaluating concepts, conducting technical testing, and developing innovative solutions to enhance the capabilities and efficiency of national telecommunications infrastructure.

Under the scope of the memorandum of understanding, Mitratel and ZTE have agreed to collaborate on the exploration and study of new technologies, including technical validation and the development of solutions that can support improved service quality and network optimisation.

Mitratel Chief Executive Officer Theodorus Ardi Hartoko stated that the collaboration aligns with the company’s commitment to promoting innovation and efficient management of telecommunications infrastructure.

“The strategic partnership between Mitratel and ZTE is an important step in expanding the exploration of technology solutions that can improve the efficiency and capabilities of Indonesia’s telecommunications network,” Theodorus said in a press release on Thursday (12 March 2026).

He highlighted that as a digital infrastructure company, Mitratel is committed to providing solutions that are not only reliable and sustainable, but also adaptive to the evolving needs of operators and the public.

Meanwhile, ZTE Indonesia President Director Richard Liang welcomed the collaboration with Mitratel as part of joint efforts to strengthen the country’s telecommunications infrastructure.

“To date, ZTE has cooperated with Telkom Group, including through several initiatives involving Mitratel, such as in the development of energy sector solutions to support infrastructure operations,” he said.

According to Liang, through the signing of this memorandum of understanding, both parties will explore collaboration opportunities in several areas, including the development of Radio Access Network (RAN) technology and the utilisation of more efficient energy sources to support network management.

Through this partnership, the two companies will explore various joint initiatives that include technology concept development, technical testing, and potential implementation of innovative solutions relevant to market needs.

Any more specific forms of cooperation, whether technical, operational, or commercial, will be further regulated in a definitive agreement formally agreed upon by both parties.

The memorandum of understanding is non-binding commercially and takes effect from the date of signing with a duration of two years, unless extended based on written agreement between the parties.

This effort is expected to serve as a foundation for the development of strategic projects in the future related to strengthening infrastructure and utilising efficient technology to support digital transformation in Indonesia.
