Mitratel partners with ZTE to develop network management efficiency
Jakarta – Mitratel (PT Dayamitra Telekomunikasi Tbk), a subsidiary of Telkom Indonesia, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with PT ZTE Indonesia (ZTE) to develop strategic collaboration aimed at creating network efficiency solutions and technology innovations in Indonesia.
Mitratel Chief Executive Theodorus Ardi Hartoko stated in Jakarta on Friday that Mitratel and ZTE have agreed to collaborate on exploring and studying new technologies, including technical validation and solution development that can support improved service quality and network optimisation.
“This collaboration is expected to bring a more adaptive approach to the evolving needs of the telecommunications industry, while strengthening the competitiveness of Indonesia’s digital ecosystem,” he said.
The MoU signing marks the initial milestone of the partnership between the two companies in establishing a cooperation framework focused on exploring new technologies, concept evaluation, technical testing, and developing innovative solutions to enhance the capabilities and efficiency of national telecommunications infrastructure.
“The strategic partnership between Mitratel and ZTE is an important step in expanding the exploration of technology solutions that can increase efficiency and capability of telecommunications networks in Indonesia,” he added.
Through this MoU, both parties are exploring collaboration opportunities in several areas, including Radio Access Network (RAN) technology development and utilising more efficient energy sources to support network management.
ZTE Indonesia President Director Richard Liang welcomed the collaboration with Mitratel as part of a joint effort to support telecommunications infrastructure strengthening in Indonesia.
“ZTE has maintained cooperation with the Telkom Group, including through various initiatives involving Mitratel, such as developing solutions in the energy sector to support infrastructure operations,” he said.
Through this partnership, both parties will explore various joint initiatives that may include technology concept development, technical testing, and potential implementation of innovative solutions relevant to market needs, according to Mitratel’s statement.
More specific forms of cooperation, whether technical, operational, or commercial, will be further regulated in a definitive agreement formally agreed upon by both parties.
Mitratel stated that this collaboration reflects the seriousness of both companies in supporting Indonesia’s digital transformation through strengthened infrastructure and efficient technology utilisation. Implementing good governance principles, regulatory compliance, and information confidentiality protection, the collaboration is expected to serve as a solid foundation for developing strategic projects in the future.
