Misuse of Residence Permits Leads to Deportation of 21 Chinese and Vietnamese Foreign Nationals in Subang
The Bandung Class I Immigration Office deported 21 foreign nationals (WNA) from China and Vietnam who were in Subang for misusing their residence permits. Additionally, 18 WNA from China and Vietnam were requested to correct their licensing documents in Indonesia.
The Head of the Bandung Class I Immigration Office, Muhamad Novyandri, stated that his team had carried out the Wirawaspada joint operation for monitoring foreigners in Subang Regency last April. A total of 39 WNA were recorded and requested to rectify their licensing documents up to deportation.
He said the operation was conducted to ensure that foreigners comply with the laws and regulations. Furthermore, the enforcement operation was carried out in reference to a letter from the ministry.
“We found 18 foreigners to whom we issued warning letters and requested to correct their licensing documents. We also found 21 foreigners who were suspected of misusing residence permits and were deported,” he said on Friday (8/5/2026).
Of the 18 WNA requested to correct their licensing documents, he said 17 were from China and one from Vietnam. Meanwhile, the 21 who were deported consisted of 20 Chinese nationals and one Vietnamese national.
“For foreigners proven to have committed violations, sanctions will be imposed up to deportation,” he said.
Thus, his side hopes that this action will have a deterrent effect and increase foreigners’ compliance with the applicable immigration regulations in Indonesia.
He added that the Immigration Office continues to strive to maintain the sovereignty of the state and ensure that order in the immigration sector remains maintained.
