Misunderstanding over fill material: soil in Pasar Rebo to be moved
JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - Camat Pasar Rebo, Mujiono, confirmed that his team, together with staff from Bina Marga in the Pasar Rebo sub-district and PPSU in Gedong, are removing the fill soil that covered Jalan Raya Tengah, RW 03, Gedong, East Jakarta. ‘Today my colleagues at Bina Marga in Pasar Rebo, together with PPSU in Gedong, are tackling the soil fill again, and the fill will be removed,’ Mujiono said on Wednesday (4 March 2026). He explained that the fill originated when the local residents initiated filling to raise the access road that frequently floods. ‘So actually the road is a little damp, then the residents asked to raise it. But the request was directed to PAM who is currently digging. So the majority of the soil is fill,’ he said. He added that the terrain in the area is lower, which often leads to waterlogging, especially during rain. ‘However the fill, because it is from PAM’s excavations, consists largely of soil. Thus it may be considered muddy,’ he said. Earlier, the access road in Gedong, Pasar Rebo, East Jakarta, was partially closed by soil piles until it became slippery. The condition went viral on social media. It is understood that the soil fill was requested by residents, but a misunderstanding occurred with PAM Jaya regarding the type of material needed. In the video narration, residents had reported the condition of the road several times. It was suspected the pile originated from leftover project excavations, causing the road surface to be uneven. ‘When it rains, the location becomes slippery and quite dangerous for motorists passing by,’ read the caption of the Instagram account @lintascondetupdate.
