Ni Nyoman Murtiningsih, a resident of Palak Village in Sukawati District, was finally found in the waters off Masceti Beach. She had gone missing after being swept away by waves following a sand therapy session at the shoreline. Unfortunately, Murtiningsih was found not breathing by foreign tourists who were surfing.

“She was found at around 15.20 WITA. She was not breathing,” said Blahbatuh Police Chief Kompol Luh Putu Sri Sumartini, met at Masceti Beach on Wednesday (24/6/2026).

Sumartini revealed that Murtiningsih was discovered on the southeastern side, approximately one kilometre south of the beach, in an area frequented by surfers. The 48-year-old woman was found floating in the sea by several foreign tourists who were surfing. At the time of discovery, her body was carried onto a surfboard by one of the foreign tourists who found her. The tourists attempted to provide first aid after bringing her out of the water.

“First aid was attempted. But I cannot yet confirm whether she had passed away. I need to check at the hospital,” Sumartini said. Murtiningsih has since been rushed to Sanjiwani Hospital for medical treatment. The search operation has been called off.
