Missing students found

BOGOR (JP): A search and rescue team in the Gede Pangrango mountains in Sukabumi, West Java, found on Sunday two Germans, who had been missing since Thursday.

Both were students and were identified as Manuel Heller, 25, who was found with an injured leg in Cipelang subdistrict, and Myriam Goelz, 24, who was found at a security post in the mountains in Cibodas subdistrict.

According to the secretary of the rescue team, Bing Sutanto, both students began hiking from Selabintana subdistrict, but when they reached Cipelang subdistrict, they lost their way and could not go on any further as Manuel's sustained a leg injury.

Bing said Myriam then contacted a friend of hers, Ismunanto, in Jakarta, on her cellular telephone.

Ismunanto reported the matter to the rescue team, who then began a search for the two.

Meanwhile, Myriam managed to reach a security post, where the rescue team found her.(21/07)
