Missing Junior High School Student from Karangasem Found in Canggu
A junior high school student with the initials NPJ, who left her home in Ban Village, Kubu District, Karangasem, has been found. The 13-year-old student was found in Canggu Village, North Kuta District, Badung, on Thursday evening, May 14th, 2026.
“She was found last night, and today her family picked her up, and she is in good condition,” said the Head of Public Relations of the Karangasem Police, Ipda I Nengah Artono, on Friday, May 15th, 2026.
Artono said that the Criminal Investigation Unit (Reskrim) and the Intelligence Unit (Intel) of the Kubu Police were dispatched to conduct an investigation after receiving a report that NPJ was missing. After the investigation, it was discovered that NPJ was in Canggu Village.
The Kubu Police then requested assistance from the Kuta Utara Police to confirm the information. After checking, it turned out that NPJ was indeed in Canggu Village, specifically at the Sofico Family store. The teenage girl was then taken to the Kuta Utara Police Station before being picked up by the Kubu Police.
Based on the interrogation results, NPJ admitted that she was invited to leave by a female acquaintance she met on social media. She was taken to several places before being left on the side of the road in Denpasar.
After being left, NPJ contacted a friend in Denpasar to pick her up. She then stayed with her friend in a boarding house for a week. When she was found, NPJ and her friend were coincidentally visiting her aunt’s workplace in Canggu Village.
After completing the interrogation, NPJ’s parents no longer pursued the matter of her disappearance. NPJ then returned to her parents’ home.
Previously, a case of a student leaving home occurred again in Karangasem. This time, a 13-year-old junior high school student with the initials NPJ left her home in Ban Village, Kubu District.
The student was known to have left home on Wednesday, May 6th, 2026. However, her parents only reported it to the Kubu Police on Wednesday, May 13th, 2026.
