After three days of search, the body of a fisherman from Semawang, Sanur, Denpasar, I Wayan Suta, 50, was found in the Kerandangan waters, Senggigi, Batu Layar District, West Lombok, on Sunday afternoon. The victim was found afloat in the sea. ‘We found him this afternoon lying face down; we have coordinated with the Mataram SAR office to evacuate him,’ said I Nyoman Sidakarya, Head of the Denpasar A-class Search and Rescue Office, on Sunday night. Previously, I Wayan Suta was reported missing while fishing in the Nusa Penida waters, Klungkung Regency, on Friday. After he did not return, colleagues and family reported the incident to Basarnas Bali. A three-day search then led to a fisherman named Kacimong finding the body of a man floating in Kerandangan. On approaching, the victim was still wearing the same clothes as when he went to sea. ‘The clothes match the report of the missing person; the Mataram SAR team then informed us of this,’ he added. The SAR Bangsal, Senggigi standby team then evacuated him and took him to Bhayangkara Hospital in Mataram using an ambulance from the Senggigi Village Office. Sidakarya explained that after the discovery, the family was contacted for confirmation. ‘The confirmation has been made; the results are true. The family is now awaiting repatriation of the body to Bali,’ concluded Nyoman Sidakarya.
