Missing for four days, MI pupil in Karawang runs away with her boyfriend

According to detikJabar, on Friday (22 May 2026), LZ was found by her family while she was with a teenage boy identified as SA (15), who is known to be her boyfriend. The two were found at a neighbourhood watch post in Mekarjati, Karawang Barat district, Karawang Regency. Karawang Police Public Relations Head, Ipda Cep Wildan, explained that the incident began on Sunday (17 May). At that time, SA contacted LZ via text message and expressed his wish to run away from home. ‘The victim wanted to run away, sending a message to her boyfriend. It turned out SA had been forbidden by LZ, and the two eventually agreed to meet at the Jembatan Jalan Baru on Monday morning (18 May),’ Wildan said when contacted. The next day, Monday (18 May) around 07:00 WIB, LZ said goodbye to her parents to go to school as usual. However, she did not go to school and chose to meet SA according to the plan they had agreed. After meeting, the two headed off and hid at a neighbourhood watch post in Mekarjati, Karawang Barat. For several days, their whereabouts were unknown until eventually found by the family and residents.
