Police have revealed the motive behind the death of a domestic worker identified as RR (26) in Kota Wisata Housing Estate, Limusnunggal Village, Cileungsi District, Bogor, West Java, who is suspected to have been assaulted by three colleagues. The investigation found the assault was triggered by the disappearance of the employer’s smartwatch charger that remained unlocated.

“Based on preliminary inquiries, the suspected motive for the beating was the perpetrators’ frustration towards the victim for being unable to produce the missing charger,” said Cileungsi Police Station Chief Kompol Edison on Monday, 1 June 2026.

At the time of the incident, the homeowner was out of town. After receiving the report, police arrived at the scene and conducted a series of investigations.

The incident occurred on Wednesday, 27 May. The victim claimed she was unaware of the item the perpetrators were searching for.

“After the search yielded no results, one of the suspects threatened to pour boiling water over the victim,” he said.

The threat was later carried out. In the afternoon around 3pm WIB, the three suspects took the victim to the bathroom.

“Taking turns to pour boiling water over the victim’s body. She was then left before being found with blistered skin,” he said.

Following the incident, the victim was taken to the domestic worker’s room and given makeshift treatment. Her condition deteriorated until she was found dead in her room on Saturday, 30 May, at approximately 7.30pm WIB.
