Jakarta (ANTARA) - PT Kereta Cepat Indonesia China (KCIC) has assured passengers who miss the Whoosh high-speed train that they need not worry about losing their tickets and can reschedule for free.

“We direct passengers to the counter to reschedule. Tickets do not expire and can be transferred to the next available schedule,” said KCIC Corporate Communication Manager Emir Monti at the KCIC Station in East Jakarta on Wednesday.

According to Emir, the surge in passengers during the 2026 Eid al-Fitr outbound and return travel periods has impacted the dynamics of services on the Whoosh high-speed train.

One ongoing issue in the field is passengers missing their trains due to delays in reaching the departure gate.

Based on observations at the station, several passengers were still unable to board because the gate had closed in accordance with operational procedures.

“Indeed, there are still passengers who miss their journeys. The gate closes five minutes before the scheduled departure,” Emir stated.

Even for the first change, passengers are not charged additional fees. However, if all schedules on the same day are full, passengers can still reschedule to the following day.

“If no seats are available on the same day, they can reschedule to another day with a 25 per cent deduction in accordance with the applicable policy,” Emir explained.

He urged all passengers to arrive early at the station to avoid delays, especially amid the high passenger volume during the Eid period.

“Time discipline is key to ensuring a comfortable and smooth journey on the high-speed train,” Emir said.

With this rescheduling service flexibility, KCIC hopes to continue providing comfort and solutions for passengers, even when faced with delays during busy moments like the Eid outbound and return travel.
