Miss Indonesia Sepang F1 ambassador

KUALA LUMPUR: Miss Indonesia 2004 Artika Sari Devi who has been contracted as the F1 Ambassador by the Sepang International Circuit, organizer of the 2005 Formula One Petronas Malaysia Grand Prix, said that she would donate part of her income to victims of the recent tsunami disaster.

"I will be donating 10 percent of my income to tsunami victims," the 25-year-old Artika told reporters at the Sepang Circuit. She did not reveal the value of the contract.

Her duties as F1 Ambassador would include promoting the grand prix, to be held March 18 until March 20, in particular to Indonesian F1 supporters.

Artika, who represented Bangka-Belitung province during last year's beauty pageant, said she would also accompany Indonesian spectators during the world event.

"F1 is very special to many people in the world, including Indonesia. I'm very proud to be the F1 ambassador," said Artika who is currently pursuing masters degree at Gadjah Mada University's School of Law in Yogyakarta.--JP
