The spirit of nationalism today is waning as a result of the
intervention of global values, which are marked by individualism,
consumerism, materialism and capitalism.

Gaps are also widening between rural and urban areas as well
as the rich and the poor, owing to economic development that is
going even farther from the populist economic system.

Meanwhile, the process of marginalization of
agricultural/marine resources and the impoverishment of rural
areas is underway, pushing the nation further away from achieving
increased prosperity and higher intelligence.

As a nation, of course we cannot adopt a closed attitude.
However, allowing all the global values to disrupt the nation's
lofty principles means making a big mistake.

We should be selective in accepting modernization because not
all advancement brings positive things. Modernization may even
make us alienated from our culture, so that global intervention
needs proper control.
