Misdelivery Ploy: Decoration Vendor Scammer in South Tangerang Suspected of Using Delivery Services
In South Tangerang, a man with the initials A deceived the owner of a decoration vendor, Siti Fatimah (40), in East Ciputat. The perpetrator fled with part of the rented chairs and blower fans using a goods delivery service. Siti Fatimah (40), owner of the decoration and makeup artist (MUA) vendor, said the perpetrator initially ordered 170 chairs and three blowers for a community outreach event under the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) programme, supposedly to be held at Jalan Semanggi II Number 20, Cempaka Putih, East Ciputat. “Around 3:00 PM, many people saw it. Residents said there were two Lalamove-logoed pickup trucks transporting the goods,” Fatimah said when met at the East Ciputat Police Sector on Saturday (2/5/2026). According to Fatimah, based on residents’ statements, the perpetrator claimed to residents that the goods had to be moved because of a misdelivery. “He told the residents, ‘This is a misdelivery by Mrs Fatimah. So this needs to be moved to another building. I’m only leaving 50 here,’” Fatimah quoted the residents’ account. Of the total 170 chairs, only 50 remained at the location. That means 110 chairs were taken away along with the three blowers. “50 chairs were left. So he took 110,” she said. However, she could not confirm whether the vehicles were officially registered or just using fake logos. “They say it was Lalamove. But we don’t know for sure. The police are investigating. The serial number looks like it was stuck on and covered up. Apparently not genuine Lalamove,” Fatimah stated. Fatimah estimated the loss from the incident at Rp 65 million. The loss is calculated from the value of the futura chairs and blowers that did not return. “One futura chair unit is now around Rp 400,000. Each blower is about Rp 5 million. Overall, around Rp 65 million,” she said.
