Misbakhun Urges Golkar Cadres to Support President Prabowo's Programmes

Jakarta — Mukhamad Misbakhun, Head of Economic Policy at Golkar’s Central Leadership Council, has called on Golkar cadres to actively defend the government programmes of President Prabowo Subianto as a practical expression of the party’s work-based doctrine.

According to Misbakhun, Golkar must ensure the success of President Prabowo Subianto’s administration as part of the governing coalition, given that Golkar is the largest party supporting Prabowo.

“This means Golkar cadres must deliver real work. Pak Bahlil has asked Golkar cadres to defend President Prabowo’s programmes, ensure the success of the government’s strategic initiatives, and this applies to every Golkar cadre at district and municipal levels,” Misbakhun said in a written statement received in Jakarta on Monday.

During the Ramadan Safari and Iftar gathering at Golkar’s Regional Leadership Office in Pasuruan City, East Java, he explained the importance of strengthening Golkar to expand opportunities for public service.

The politician from Pasuruan noted that Golkar, under the leadership of Party Chairman Bahlil Lahadalia, is now part of the coalition supporting President Prabowo Subianto’s administration.

With 2026 already underway, Misbakhun pointed out that 2028 is now only two years away. This means political parties will be preoccupied with drawing up lists of prospective legislative candidates.

“Naturally, every party cadre wants to make it onto the legislative candidate list and be elected,” he said.

Misbakhun emphasised that Golkar is an open party that has consistently ranked among the top vote-getters and is therefore attractive to many who wish to become legislative candidates.

“Given Golkar’s current position, many want to join. Golkar is open to anyone willing to contribute politically, but consolidation and unity must be strengthened from the start because that is the key,” he said.

Nevertheless, he also urged fellow cadres to follow Bahlil’s direction regarding the importance of remaining humble.

With Golkar’s current standing, many other parties wish to rival or even surpass the oak-emblazoned party’s ranking in the upcoming elections.

“Golkar is the largest in the coalition, but Pak Bahlil is always humble. Golkar is known for its system. Many great people have emerged from Golkar. Remember, no cadre is greater than the party,” he said.
