Misbakhun Reveals Danantara's Role in Reducing Online Motorcycle Taxi App Cuts

Chairman of DPR Commission XI and General Chairman of the Indonesian Independent Workers’ Central Organisation (SOKSI), Mukhamad Misbakhun, has revealed the government’s role in reducing deductions by online motorcycle taxi (ojol) applications. Misbakhun mentioned the involvement of BPI Danantara, which he said holds shares in Gojek.

“One of the actions taken by the government is when Danantara becomes part of the entity acquiring Gojek’s shares,” Misbakhun stated to reporters at the Golkar DPP office in Slipi, West Jakarta, on Monday (4/5/2026).

Misbakhun views Danantara’s step as one that can guarantee a larger share for drivers.

“That strategic corporate move is to provide a greater share guarantee to drivers, so that their services and sweat are valued more, previously around 80% to 92%,” he said.

Misbakhun described the step as a strategic move by Danantara. According to him, it proves that Danantara has room to invest in sectors that can provide economic value for Danantara and the wider public.

“Of course, this is a strategic step, a strategic corporate action because Danantara indeed has room to invest in sectors deemed capable of providing economic value to Danantara, and of course to the public at large,” he said.

For information, Deputy Chairman of the DPR Sufmi Dasco Ahmad mentioned that Danantara has purchased a portion of shares in the ojol application company. Through this purchase of a portion of the ojol application’s shares, the system and policies of the application will be gradually and certainly adjusted.

Thus, the government can reduce the commission deduction to ojol drivers from 10-20% to 8%. This aligns with President Prabowo Subianto’s desire for applications to cut the app levies on every ojol trip fare.

“The first thing is to then lower the fees taken by the application. Previously 20% or 10%, so the application will only take 8% of what is collected,” Dasco said when receiving an audience from a labour union alliance at the parliamentary complex, quoted from Antara, on Friday (1/5).
