Mirjawal Announces Candidacy for Chairperson of the Indonesian Veterinary Association

Dr Mirjawal, Chairperson of the Indonesian Veterinary Association (PDHI) West Java V branch, has expressed his readiness to contest the election for the General Chairperson of the PDHI Central Board during the PDHI Congress scheduled for mid-October 2026.

Mirjawal announced his candidacy while attending a community service event involving free animal sterilisation and vaccination in Bekasi on Saturday (29/08/2026). During the event, 150 cats underwent sterilisation supported by 40 veterinarians.

Mirjawal stated that his decision to run for the General Chairperson of the PDHI Central Board is part of his commitment to making the professional organisation closer to the community.

“I declare my readiness to compete for the General Chairperson of the PDHI Central Board in the upcoming October Congress. I chose to announce this readiness amidst the community because, for me, the PDHI must always be at the heart of society and provide a tangible impact,” said Mirjawal.

He believes that a professional organisation should not merely conduct activities within its internal environment. According to him, the PDHI needs to be present to address various public needs, particularly those related to animal health and welfare, veterinary public health, and zoonotic diseases that have the potential to spread from animals to humans.

“The PDHI will always be in the midst of the community. We want the PDHI to be present, to work, and to provide benefits that can be felt directly by the public,” he added.

Mirjawal also requested prayers and support from the public and the entire veterinary community regarding his candidacy.

“I ask for your prayers and blessings. This is an effort to provide broader service. Hopefully, in the future, we can work together to make the PDHI an organisation that is increasingly present, closer to the community, and more impactful,” he said.

Mirjawal’s readiness to compete for the national chairmanship has received support from the Head of the Bekasi City Food Security, Agriculture, and Fisheries Office (DKPPP), Dr Satia Sriwijayanti Anggraini, M.M.

Satia, who attended the event, expressed her appreciation for the contributions of PDHI West Java V in providing services to the community. She also offered her prayers and support for Mirjawal’s upcoming contest for the General Chairperson of the PDHI Central Board.
