Mirae Asset Introduces Investment Ecosystem and Market Movements to FE Students
Mirae Asset, through Nyoman Bayu Wiyono, provided an understanding of securities companies, investment, and capital market dynamics to students of the Faculty of Economics at UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang. The presentation was part of the first day of the Faculty of Economics’ Introduction to Academic and Student Culture (PBAK), attended by students from the Accounting, Sharia Banking, and Management study programmes on the 5th floor of the UIN Malang Rectorate Building on Saturday, 22 August 2026.
Nyoman introduced Mirae Asset as a company engaged in investment and capital market services. In Indonesia, PT Mirae Asset Sekuritas Indonesia provides services such as securities brokerage, securities underwriting, and mutual fund services. The company also has a network of offices and Office Education facilities in various regions, including Malang.
In his presentation, Nyoman explained that Mirae Asset is part of Mirae Asset Financial Group, which has a global business network. Mirae Asset’s presence in Indonesia is also supported by various educational facilities and investment services. One of these is through the Office Education in Malang and various Investment Galleries that serve as a means to introduce the capital market to the public and students.
Nyoman also invited students to understand that investment always carries risk, so investment decisions need to be based on sufficient understanding. Investors need to pay attention to market conditions, investment objectives, and the characteristics of the instruments chosen. According to Nyoman, developments or changes in certain conditions can indeed affect the market, but the impact does not always last for a long period.
The discussion also related to students’ questions about stock market conditions and external factors that can influence its movements. Nyoman explained that an event can have an influence on the market, but the magnitude of the impact and its duration depend on the conditions and responses of market participants. This view is in line with Mirae Asset’s attention to domestic and global factors that can affect investor sentiment.
Through this presentation, FE UIN Malang students are expected not only to recognise investment from the profit side, but also to understand the risks and dynamics of the market. The presence of capital market education from Mirae Asset is an opportunity for students to begin to get to know the world of investment in a more directed manner and to utilise the capital market education facilities available in the campus environment.
