Minyakita Prices Unstable in Central Java Ahead of Eid; Bulog: 93 Per Cent Already Distributed to Market

SEMARANG — The head of Bulog’s Central Java regional office, Sri Muniati, has assured that Minyakita stocks ahead of Eid celebrations remain in a safe condition. Her statement responds to recent fluctuations in Minyakita prices and their perceived limited availability in the market.

“The stock under Bulog’s control in Central Java is quite sufficient, covering government rice reserves, Minyakita, and other items. Particularly these two commodities (rice and Minyakita),” Sri said on Thursday (12 March 2026).

She acknowledged reports of fluctuating Minyakita prices in the market. “Minyakita has become a focal point due to its price fluctuations, and we are supported by sufficiently large stocks. Until March, we have procured 6.518 kilolitres from our quota of 7.001 kilolitres, or approximately 93 per cent,” she explained.

Sri claimed the procured quantities have been distributed to traditional markets and retail partner traders outside markets. “A total of 670 retail traders have become our partners in traditional markets, particularly SP2KP markets and others, whilst 925 retailers operate outside markets,” she said.

“In total, 1.595 retailers have partnered with Bulog to distribute Minyakita at prices in accordance with the maximum retail price of Rp15,700,” Sri added.

She reported having received information about Minyakita being sold above the maximum retail price (HET) in several markets across Central Java. “At some markets where retailers were found still selling above the HET—for instance at Rp18,000 or Rp19,000—this valuable information helps us further optimise distribution in those areas. We intervene further and work with relevant authorities,” she said.
