Ministry to Add Platforms at JIS Station Next Year, Currently Only One

Minister of Transportation Dudy Purwagandhi has stated that the Ministry of Transportation will add more platforms to the Jakarta International Stadium (JIS) Station in North Jakarta. The station, which was inaugurated and began operations today, Monday, 22 June 2026, currently only has one platform. The expansion is targeted for completion by 2027.

“Yes, it currently only has one platform, and we have conveyed to the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government that we will develop it further,” Dudy told reporters at JIS Station on Monday. “We expect it to be completed within the next year,” he added.

Dudy explained that JIS Station can serve passengers travelling to Jakarta Kota Station with a travel time of approximately 15 minutes. He noted that JIS Station will eventually be developed into a permanent station equipped with various facilities. “So it is already active and we will continue to develop it as a permanent station,” he concluded.

Earlier, Governor of DKI Jakarta Pramono Anung inaugurated the JIS Station in North Jakarta on Monday, 22 June 2026, as a gift for Jakarta’s 499th anniversary. “No one is more grateful than I am. Because once this is realised, it is one of my personal dreams come true,” Pramono said at JIS Station.

Pramono expressed his gratitude to Minister of Transportation Dudy Purwagandhi for the realisation of JIS Station. “Because one part of Jakarta’s future lies in the north, at this place. Sooner or later, this place will definitely become one of the areas or places frequently visited by the public. Many people have asked when North Jakarta would be developed,” he stated.

Furthermore, Pramono hopes that JIS Station can be utilised to its maximum potential and not only be busy during football matches or concerts. The presence of JIS Station also connects the JIS area with Ancol via a pedestrian bridge (JPO). “If this activation can be carried out, we can connect JIS and Ancol, then anyone who wants to watch a concert, watch football, or go to Ancol will have the choice of taking the KRL, Transjabodetabek, or Transjakarta,” Pramono emphasised.
