Ministry Strengthens AI-Based Entrepreneurship Education Transformation
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Technology (Kemdiktisaintek) continues to strengthen the transformation of higher education through the development of an entrepreneurial ecosystem that is adaptive to technological developments, the needs of the business world, and national development challenges.
Acting Secretary General of Kemdiktisaintek, Badri Munir Sukoco, in a statement in Jakarta on Friday, affirmed that entrepreneurship study programmes are one of the key instruments in realising the ministry’s vision of being inclusive, adaptive and impactful towards Golden Indonesia 2045.
“We need to understand together that the urgency of science and technology-based entrepreneurs is increasingly important. Entrepreneurship study programmes are highly relevant to answering future challenges through the downstreaming of innovation and the creation of new jobs,” he said.
He considered that universities need to transform into entrepreneurial universities that not only produce graduates who are ready for work, but are also capable of giving rise to job creators based on science and technology.
“Strengthening collaboration between universities, regional governments, industry, financing institutions, and associations is being encouraged to build a more integrated entrepreneurship ecosystem,” said Secretary General Badri.
Meanwhile, Deputy for Entrepreneurship at the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), M. Riza Damanik, conveyed that entrepreneurship development is one of the keys to accelerating national economic growth while reducing unemployment.
“We must encourage more and more young people to grow into strong entrepreneurs. It is impossible for Indonesia to become a developed country without an adequate entrepreneurship ratio to drive economic growth and create jobs,” said Riza.
Riza added that the government has issued Presidential Regulation Number 38 of 2026 concerning Entrepreneurship Development, which is expected to serve as the foundation for strengthening collaboration across ministries, universities, the private sector, and regional governments in developing national entrepreneurship.
The Chairperson of the Alliance of Indonesian Entrepreneurship Study Programmes (APSKI), Sonny Rustiadi, emphasised that entrepreneurship education needs to be designed so that students are able to identify local problems, create added value for their regions, and become an integral part of the transformation of universities towards truly entrepreneurial universities.
“Entrepreneurship education not only prepares students to be ready for work, but also equips them to be able to create jobs and present solutions to economic problems in their respective regions,” said Sonny.
