Ministry: Revitalisation Programme Boosts New Student Enrolment in Bogor
The Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education (Kemendikdasmen) has stated that its school revitalisation programme successfully increased the number of prospective students registering at several schools in the Bogor region, West Java, during the New Student Admission System (SPMB).
Minister of Primary and Secondary Education, Abdul Mu’ti, expressed his appreciation to all parties who have supported the implementation of the School Revitalisation programme, so that it provides real benefits for students while simultaneously strengthening public trust in schools.
The Head of SDN Cimahpar 5, Bogor City, Iim Rohimah, said the revitalisation has had an impact that was immediately felt by the school. Besides making teaching and learning activities more comfortable, the physical changes to the school have also increased public interest in sending their children there.
“The classrooms are comfortable, good, nice, and very useful. Alhamdulillah, the impact is felt on public interest. During the New Student Admission System (SPMB), the number of registrants increased compared to previous years,” said Iim.
She explained that in previous years, her school tended to have few prospective students in the early days of registration. However, this year, public enthusiasm has increased significantly. Even before registration opened, many parents came to seek information and ensure their children could attend SDN Cimahpar 5.
“Before the SPMB even opened, many parents had come here. ‘Ma’am, can I leave my child’s name first? I’m afraid we won’t get a place later.’ ‘You can’t, ma’am, because now registration is an online system, unlike the old days when you could leave a name, put down a name, it’s not like that,’” said Iim.
A similar experience was felt by residents around SDN Leuwibatu 02, Bogor Regency. Inayah, who is a parent as well as an alumna of the school, feels proud of the changes that have occurred. According to her, the school building, which is now better, is a special attraction for the local community.
“After being revitalised, the building is nice and makes the children in this area more interested in attending school here,” she said.
Teacher at SDN Leuwibatu 02, Nurul Komariyah, conveyed that public interest in registering their children at the school has increased. “Many parents come looking for information, because they see the improving facilities,” she said.
She hopes her students will become more enthusiastic about learning, considering their school building is now much nicer.
