Ministry proposes Rp 1t budget for Aceh

MAKASSAR: The Ministry of Health has proposed a Rp 1 trillion budget for the construction of health facilities in Aceh, which was devastated by a tsunami in December last year.

If approved, the money would be taken from the 2006 state budget, said health ministry official Mulya Hasjimi.

The Ministry of Health is currently involved in rebuilding the severely damaged Zainul Abidin Hospital in Aceh.

Hasjimi said work on the hospital was about 90 percent complete. -- JP
