Creative Economy Minister Teuku Riefky Harsya said the ASIED National Championship Grand Finale is designed not only as a competition but also as a platform to equip participants with skills required in the creative industry through workshops, masterclasses, and six months of mentoring.

“What I like about ASIED is that this program is not only about competition, but also about learning, building self-confidence, and creating opportunities,” Harsya said in a statement received on Sunday.

According to the minister, the esports industry has evolved into an important segment of the creative economy, creating a wide range of career opportunities beyond becoming professional players.

These opportunities include careers as casters, content creators, coaches, tournament organizers, game operations specialists, and digital content developers.

Harsya added that the ministry will continue expanding access to learning spaces, creative spaces, and creative hubs across the country through collaboration with various partners.

He said the initiative is expected to produce more skilled professionals who are ready to contribute to Indonesia’s growing game industry.

The ASIED program is a collaborative initiative involving the Ministry of Creative Economy, the United States Embassy in Indonesia, American Spaces Indonesia, the Indonesian Esports Association (ESI), the Odong Prestasi Indonesia Foundation, and Garudaku Academy.

Through the American Corner network, the program has reached more than 1,200 participants from various regions across Indonesia.

Meanwhile, Acting Country Public Affairs Officer at the US Embassy in Jakarta Abraham Lee said ASIED was created to introduce participants to the broad range of career opportunities available in the esports industry, including event management, game operations, broadcasting, graphic design, content creation, and marketing.
