Ministry, OJK to form task force to speed up 3 million house programme
“We will invite various stakeholders to formulate an effective, efficient, and productive task force structure so that housing-related issues can be resolved quickly,” Minister Maruarar Sirait remarked during a press conference here on Monday.
Meanwhile, Chair of the OJK Board of Commissioners Friderica Widyasari Dewi said that OJK fully supports the government’s priority program to build 3 million houses for the Indonesian people.
“OJK also supports the establishment of a Task Force for the Acceleration of the 3 Million Houses Program together with the PKP Ministry, OJK, Tapera (Public Housing Savings Management Agency), and developer associations,” Dewi remarked.
She also appreciated the minister’s efforts in advocating for access to housing finance for low-income communities.
“We see that the minister is extraordinary in his efforts to ensure that low-income communities can own homes,” she said.
Previously, Minister Sirait stated that a special policy related to the Financial Information Services System (SLIK) to be issued by OJK in support of subsidized housing would have a significant impact.
“The policy issued by OJK will have a very large multiplier effect in the housing sector, especially subsidized housing. With free Land and Building Rights Acquisition Fee (BPHTB) and free Building Approval (PBG), consumers will be very happy. I believe this will create significant movement,” he said.
Furthermore, he explained that developments in the housing sector, especially subsidized housing for low-income communities, could drive national economic growth.
