Ministry of Youth and Sports Supports HYROX Competition in Jakarta
The Ministry of Youth and Sports (Kemenpora) supports the implementation of the HYROX competition, AirAsia HYROX, which will be held at Pantai Indah Kapuk, Jakarta, on 27-28 June 2026.
“The government fully supports the presence of AirAsia HYROX Jakarta. From an economic and tourism perspective, sport tourism activities such as this are projected to attract around 4,000 people from abroad,” said the Deputy for Sports Culture at Kemenpora, Puspita Winawati, during a press conference in Jakarta on Thursday.
Kemenpora hopes that through this global-scale competition, new talented fitness athletes can emerge to bring honour to the nation on the international stage.
“Our support is implemented holistically, ranging from providing appropriate hydration products and continuous education for coaches, athletes, and industry players, to being involved in athlete preparation, in order to create a sustainable HYROX ecosystem,” added Puspita Winawati.
Currently, HYROX has become a rapidly growing global sports phenomenon. HYROX APAC representative William Petty explained that this fitness championship has successfully debuted in the Asia Pacific region with a total of over 11,000 participants.
“HYROX is a global hybrid race that combines running and functional fitness, held in more than 30 countries. We are very enthusiastic about bringing this global competition experience to Jakarta on 27-28 June and witnessing the incredible energy from the fitness community in Indonesia,” said William.
