Ministry of Youth and Sports Hopes MCGJWC Produces World-Class Indonesian Golfers

The Ministry of Youth and Sports (Kemenpora) hopes the Mandiri Ciputra Golfpreneur Junior World Championship (MCGJWC) 2026 will produce young Indonesian golfers with world-class achievements by enhancing the experience and mental fortitude of junior athletes. Speaking at the closing ceremony at Damai Indah Golf-PIK Course in Pantai Indah Kapuk, Secretary of Kemenpora Gunawan Suswantoro, representing the Minister, congratulated the organisers on the successful event. Gunawan stated that hosting the international junior championship provides a vital contribution to national athlete development, particularly in building a competitive mentality and improving the effectiveness of golf development in Indonesia. He noted the tournament is part of the athlete regeneration process, offering young golfers the opportunity to gain more playing hours and refine their technical skills before advancing to the senior level. Gunawan expressed appreciation for the organiser, Ciputra Golfpreneur Foundation, for consistently delivering an international platform for junior golfers from various countries. As part of support for young athletes’ career development, the organisers awarded the individual champions opportunities to compete in professional tournaments. The male individual champion from Thailand received a ticket to the Ciputra Golfpreneur Tournament Asian Development Tour 2026, while the female individual champion from Thailand earned a spot in the Indonesia Women’s Open 2027. The MCGJWC 2026 took place from 10 to 12 June 2026, featuring 140 junior golfers from 29 countries, including Australia, Japan, South Korea, Thailand, England, the United Arab Emirates, South Africa, Singapore, and host nation Indonesia.
