Ministry of Youth and Sports Ensures Youth Programmes Align with Young Generation's Needs
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Ministry of Youth and Sports (Kemenpora) has affirmed its commitment to ensuring that youth programmes are well-targeted and aligned with the needs of Indonesia’s younger generation. Minister of Youth and Sports Erick Thohir conveyed this during a budget working meeting with Commission X of the House of Representatives (DPR). “Kemenpora will continue to run President Prabowo Subianto’s priority programmes in the fields of youth and sports through the legislative process with the DPR,” Erick Thohir wrote on his Instagram account, as quoted on Monday (15/6). According to Erick, Kemenpora will hold further discussions to ensure that the various youth programmes designed truly answer the aspirations and needs of young people. “We will also discuss so that the programmes made are well-targeted according to the wishes of the youth,” Erick stated in his social media post. Kemenpora is also preparing a number of priority programmes in the sports sector, such as the construction of a national sports academy and national training centre, improving athlete welfare, providing sports scholarships, and establishing a pension fund for athletes. Erick added that Kemenpora will continue bureaucratic reform to ensure effective and transparent budget management. “We want every rupiah of the budget used by Kemenpora to be well-targeted and provide benefits for youth and sports in Indonesia,” said Erick.
