Ministry of Youth and Sports and BKPM Collaborate to Accelerate Investment in the Sports Industry

The Ministry of Youth and Sports (Kemenpora) and the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) have entered into a strategic partnership to accelerate the licensing and investment process in the sports industry. The move is intended to enhance the competitiveness of Indonesia’s sports industry on the international stage. The meeting between the two institutions took place on Wednesday, 26 August 2026, in Jakarta.

During the meeting, Minister of Youth and Sports Zainudin Amali stressed the importance of synergy between Kemenpora and BKPM in creating a conducive investment climate. “We are committed to facilitating and accelerating the licensing process so that investment in sports can increase,” said Zainudin. He added that this acceleration is expected to attract more foreign investors to put their capital into Indonesia.

Meanwhile, Head of BKPM Bahlil Lahadalia stated that his agency is ready to fully support Kemenpora’s initiative. BKPM will provide a one-stop integrated service to simplify the licensing process for investors. “We will ensure that all licensing processes can be completed quickly and efficiently,” said Bahlil. He also emphasised that this collaboration is part of the government’s effort to advance the sports sector as one of the pillars of the national economy.

The follow-up plan for this cooperation includes drafting more investment-friendly regulations and providing incentives for investors. Kemenpora and BKPM will also hold regular meetings to monitor progress and address any obstacles that may arise. Through these measures, it is hoped that Indonesia’s sports industry can develop more rapidly and make a significant contribution to the country’s economy.
