Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Ministry of Women’s Empowerment and Child Protection has deployed a team to provide assistance in handling the case of 53 child victims of violence at Daycare Little Aresha in Yogyakarta City, Special Region of Yogyakarta. “The plan is for an initial assessment tomorrow; KemenPPPA will deploy a team to assist. This case has already attracted the attention of the Minister,” said Acting Deputy for Special Child Protection of KemenPPPA, Indra Gunawan, when contacted in Jakarta on Sunday. He stated that KemenPPPA has currently coordinated with the Provincial and City Women’s Empowerment and Child Protection Agency (PPPA) in the area. Previously, Daycare Little Aresha in Yogyakarta was reported to the police regarding allegations of violence and discrimination against children entrusted there. The police then raided the daycare on Friday (24/4). To date, at least 53 children are indicated to have experienced violence out of 103 children entrusted. The child violence is suspected to have occurred since the daycare operated for one year. Yogyakarta Police are currently examining several witnesses to complete the evidence.
