Ministry of Villages Targets Minimum IKK Value of 80 by 2026
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Ministry of Villages and Underdeveloped Regions (Kemendes PDT) is targeting a minimum Policy Quality Index (IKK) value of 80 for the ministry by 2026 as an effort to strengthen evidence-based policy governance within the ministry. “I invite us all to commit to guiding the target of a minimum IKK value of 80 for 2026. Let us ensure 100 per cent quality and completeness of evidence supported without gaps,” said the Head of the Village and Underdeveloped Regions Information Development Agency (BPI) of Kemendes PDT, Mulyadin Malik, during the Policy Quality Index Measurement Seminar at the Kemendes office in Jakarta on Tuesday. He further stated that the IKK is a valuable instrument to ensure that every policy formulated truly leads to improving the welfare of rural communities. “The IKK is a connecting bridge that ensures every policy formulation truly leads to the welfare of communities in villages,” he said. According to him, good policies must be based on strong evidence, not merely assumptions, and also form part of the support for the national bureaucratic reform agenda. Furthermore, he invited all work units to commit to guiding that target by ensuring the completeness and quality of policy evidence uploaded in the IKK assessment. According to Mulyadin, the success in achieving that target depends on synergy among work units, including the role of policy analysts as data managers and work units as the main providers of evidence. In addition, he said, the strategies to be pursued include screening hundreds of existing policies and then focusing on the three most impactful policies that will be evaluated in depth. He hopes that this step can increase the effectiveness of the assessment while ensuring that the resulting policies have a real impact on village and underdeveloped region development.
