The Ministry of Transportation, through the Directorate General of Land Transportation, will once again hold a free homecoming program in 2026. This year, 401 buses will be available to serve the public during the 2026 Eid Al-Fitr transportation period. The program will officially be accessible starting March 1, 2026, through online registration.

The Director General of Land Transportation at the Ministry of Transportation, Aan Suhanan, stated that the total capacity provided reaches 15,834 passengers, covering both the outbound and return journeys.

“Registration will open on March 1, 2026, online through the website nusantara.kemenhub.go.id. Registration will close when all quotas have been filled,” said Aan.

The free land transportation homecoming program this year includes 34 destination cities in 10 provinces.

Some of the destination cities for the outbound journey include: Palembang, Lampung, Bengkulu, Padang, Medan, Aceh, Garut, Tasikmalaya, Cirebon, Kuningan, Semarang, Solo, Yogyakarta, Wonogiri, Purwokerto, Tegal, Pekalongan, Demak, Boyolali, Klaten, Pati, Blora, Cilacap, Wonosobo, Kebumen, Magelang, Wonosari, Jepara, Sragen, Madiun, Surabaya, Tuban, Malang, and Tulungagung.

For the return journey, departures are available from 12 cities in 8 provinces, namely: Kuningan, Madiun, Surabaya, Palembang, Padang, Medan, Aceh, Semarang, Solo, Yogyakarta, Wonogiri, and Purwokerto.

In addition to passenger buses, the Ministry of Transportation is also preparing 8 trucks to transport motorcycles with a total capacity of 240 motorcycles.

“We are also providing eight motorcycle transport trucks for travelers who will return to their hometowns by motorcycle. These trucks can accommodate 240 motorcycles,” Aan explained.

The motorcycle transport service is available for the cities of Solo, Yogyakarta, Wonogiri, and Purwokerto, for both the outbound and return journeys.

The outbound journey will be divided into three days at five different terminals:

March 16, 2026: Pondok Cabe Terminal, South Tangerang

March 17, 2026: Jatijajar Terminal, Depok and Pulogebang Terminal, Jakarta

March 18, 2026: Kampung Rambutan Terminal, Jakarta and Poris Plawad Terminal, Tangerang

The motorcycle handover for the outbound journey will take place on March 16, 2026, at the Pondok Cabe Terminal, South Tangerang, and will depart on the same evening.

The return journey is scheduled for March 25, 2026, from:

Bulupitu Terminal, Purwokerto, Mangkang Terminal, Semarang, Giwangan Terminal, Yogyakarta, Tirtonandi Terminal, Solo, Giri Adipura Terminal, Wonogiri, Kertawangunan Terminal, Kuningan, Purboyo Terminal, Madiun, Bungurasih Terminal, Surabaya, Alang-Alang Lebar Terminal, Palembang, Anak Air Terminal, Padang, Amplas Terminal, Medan, and Batoh Terminal, Aceh.

The Ministry of Transportation confirmed that all vehicles have undergone safety inspections to ensure the safety of the journey.

“We are also ensuring that the free homecoming buses that will be dispatched have undergone safety inspections,” he added.

This step is taken to ensure that the condition of the vehicles and drivers are in optimal condition so that the journey is safe and comfortable until they arrive at their hometown.

Aan hopes that this free homecoming program can help those in need, especially in strengthening family ties during Eid Al-Fitr.

The Ministry of Transportation also appreciates the ministries/agencies and private parties that are also holding similar programs. However, the public is advised to register for only one program to avoid duplicate data.

“So that each quota can be utilized by travelers who really need it,” said Aan.
