The Director General of Land Transportation at the Ministry of Transportation, Aan Suhanan, has emphasised that his office, along with relevant stakeholders, is evaluating the policy on restricting goods transport operations during the 2026/1447 H Eid transport period. “Companies violating this policy will receive administrative sanctions in the form of warning letters up to licence suspensions,” Aan stated in his remarks on Thursday, 19 March 2026. Based on data compiled by Jasa Marga, 3,383 goods transport vehicles were diverted from H-8 to H-4 of Eid al-Fitr 1447 H, namely from 13 to 17 March 2026. He confirmed that the implementation of these goods transport restrictions has reduced the volume of group III-V goods vehicles by -47.43 per cent, from 69,176 vehicles to 36,368 vehicles. The diversion of logistics vehicles was carried out on 17 routes at 51 locations, including Dalam Kota, Jagorawi, JORR Section E, Jakarta-Tangerang, Cipularang, JORR W2U, Jakarta-Cikampek, Palikanci, Batang-Semarang, Semarang ABC, Semarang-Solo, Solo-Ngawi, Ngawi-Kertosono, Surabaya-Gempol, Gempol-Pandaan, Gempol-Pasuruan, and Pandaan-Malang. Based on RFID data at KM 54 of JORR Section E from 13 to 17 March 2026, there were 139 goods transport vehicles with 3-5 axles passing through during the restriction period and detected as Over Dimension Over Loading (ODOL). “Several companies violated this restriction policy with considerable frequency, including PT TMM, PT MTBB, PT KPT, PT LCL, PT MBS, and PT MLB,” he said. For the violators, the Directorate General of Land Transportation of the Ministry of Transportation has officially issued administrative sanctions in the form of warnings not to repeat operational violations and requested that violators submit a written Statement of Commitment not to commit similar violations. If the warnings are ignored, sanctions will be imposed in accordance with regulations, namely licence suspension. “We strongly hope that logistics companies, vehicle owners, and drivers will fully comply with these restriction rules to provide a sense of safety, comfort, and security for all people travelling home for Eid,” he added.
