The Directorate General of Land Transportation at the Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub) summoned the management of Xanh SM Taxi or Green SM on Tuesday, 28 April 2026. The summons was to seek clarification following the KRL Cikarang-KA Argo Bromo Anggrek accident at Bekasi Timur Station the previous day.

“We have formed a special team to thoroughly examine the involvement of Xanh SM Taxi, including aspects of its licensing, administrative completeness, fulfilment of safety standards, and compliance with public transport operational regulations,” said Director General of Land Transportation Aan Suhanan in an official statement on Tuesday, 28 April 2026.

He explained that public safety is the top priority, so any potential violations will be addressed in accordance with the provisions. Based on data from the Siprajab application, the taxi vehicle involved in the accident, with licence plate B 2864 SBX, is registered and has a valid supervision card until 28 October 2026.

The vehicle is also registered to provide regular taxi services in the Jabodetabek area. Nevertheless, the Directorate General of Land Transportation will continue with further investigations to ensure the operator’s compliance with all applicable regulations.

The Green SM taxi company also holds a Public Transport Company Safety Management System (SMK PAU) certificate valid for five years. Aan stated that they will re-audit the mandatory safety management standard elements for public transport companies. The audit will include reviewing the implementation of safety standards in the field, including the company’s obligations to ensure that vehicles, drivers, and operational systems meet safety aspects.

The Directorate General of Land Transportation, he said, will conduct clarifications, in-depth investigations, and take action if violations are found against the provisions in Minister of Transportation Regulation Number PM 85 of 2018 on the Public Transport Company Safety Management System and PM 117 of 2018 on Non-Route Passenger Transport Services.

According to him, administrative sanctions can be imposed according to the level of violation, ranging from warning letters, temporary permit suspensions, to permit revocations.

Aan also emphasised that if there are violations of public transport operational regulations, administrative sanctions will be imposed proportionately in accordance with the applicable rules. Further examinations of Green SM Taxi’s involvement in the accident are ongoing, and the results of the investigation will form the basis for determining subsequent steps.

The accident began when the KRL was stopped on track 1 at Bekasi Timur Station. The train stopped due to a disruption ahead from the opposite direction because there was a collision between the train and a taxi.

Shortly after, the KA Argo Bromo Anggrek was seen approaching from behind and directly slamming into the train’s body. The collision caused the Commuter Line train’s body, particularly the women’s carriage, to crumple.
