Ministry of Transportation Reminds of Restrictions on Large Trucks During Eid Exodus
JAKARTA – Minister of Transportation Dudy Purwagandhi has urged goods transport business operators to comply with the operational restrictions on large vehicles during the 2026 Eid al-Fitr homecoming period. This appeal is specifically directed at goods transport vehicles with three or more axles, which are requested to temporarily halt operations to maintain smooth homecoming traffic flow. “I urge companies or businesses operating trucks with three or more axles to temporarily stop their operations in accordance with the restriction times to ensure the smooth travel of our fellow citizens during their homecoming journeys,” said Dudy on Tuesday (17/3/2026) in a video statement at the NTMC Police Media Centre, Jakarta-Cikampek Toll KM 29. For information, the government has established a policy restricting goods transport operations during the 2026 Eid al-Fitr homecoming and return flow period. This regulation is contained in a Joint Ministerial Decree (SKB) issued by the Ministry of Transportation, the Ministry of Public Works, and the National Traffic Police Corps, numbered KP-DRJD 854 of 2026, HK.201/1/21/DJPL/2026, Kep/43/II/2026, and 20/KPTS/Db/2026. The policy aims to maintain smooth traffic on main routes, particularly during periods of significantly increased public movement during the Eid al-Fitr homecoming. The government hopes that all parties, especially transport business operators, can comply with this regulation to support the smooth and safe travel of the public during the homecoming period.
