The Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub) has revealed that Eid transport in 2026 rose by 10.95%. It stated that from H-8 to H-3 before Eid, Kemenhub recorded 7,753,476 people who had departed for homecoming travel.

“For preliminary data compiled up to now at the 2026 Integrated Eid Transport Post on H-3, namely the accumulated movement of public transport passengers departing from H-8 to H-3, totalling 7,753,476 people,” said Chair of the 2026 Daily Eid Transport Post, Bernadette Endah, to reporters at Kemenhub in Central Jakarta, on Thursday (19/3/2026).

She said the figure represents a 10.95% increase compared to Eid transport in 2025, which was 6,988,008 people.

“A 10.95% increase compared to Eid transport in 2025, namely 6,988,008 people,” she stated.

Bernadette then detailed the increases across various modes of transportation. These include railways up 15.25%, domestic and international air travel up 6.88%, sea up 6.82%, ferries up 13.40%, and land up 7.64% compared to last year.

“In addition, the number of vehicle movements through toll gates on H-3 compared to last year: vehicles exiting Jakarta toll gates up 4.35% and entering up 14.24%. Vehicles exiting and entering Jabodetabek toll gates up 0.97%,” she said.

Bernadette stated that the weather forecast based on BMKG data is currently relatively safe. Kemenhub urges the public to comply with instructions from officials to be more anticipatory towards safety and security.

“The current weather forecast based on BMKG data is relatively safe, although there are areas with wave heights of 2.5 to 4 metres,” she said.

“Therefore, we urge the public to comply with instructions from officials and together we can be more anticipatory towards safety and security in sea transportation modes,” she concluded.
