JAKARTA - Passenger movements using public transport during the 2026 Eid period continue to rise. Up to H-1 Eid, or 20 March 2026, the number of passengers recorded has exceeded 10 million people. Based on data from the 2026 Integrated Eid Transport Command Post of the Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub), the total public transport passengers from H-8 to H-1 reached 10,003,583 people, an increase of 9.23% compared to the same period last year, which was 9,158,315 people. “We urge the public to plan their return journey earlier to avoid peak times,” said Titis in an official statement on Saturday (21/3/2026). In detail, rail transport contributed the largest share with 2.98 million passengers, up 13.22% year-on-year. Followed by ferry transport with 2.48 million passengers, up 14.78%. On H-1 alone, said Titis, the number of passengers reached 915,635 people, with the largest contribution from trains at 302,823 people, followed by air transport at 207,261 people, ferries at 189,804 people, land transport at 161,054 people, and sea transport at 54,693 people. In addition to passenger movements, vehicle flows have also increased significantly. At the Jakarta toll gates, outgoing vehicles were recorded at 117,016 units, while incoming vehicles reached 66,210 units. On arterial roads, vehicles exiting the Jabodetabek area reached 474,454 units, while those entering numbered 360,479 units.
