Ministry of Transportation Prepares Aircraft Ticket Discounts of Up to 18 Per Cent for Eid 2026 Holiday Travel

The Ministry of Transportation is preparing aircraft ticket discounts of up to 18 per cent for the Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijri (Eid 2026) holiday travel period.

“The government is providing stimulus for aircraft tickets with discounts reaching up to 18 per cent,” said Transport Minister Dudy Purwagandhi, accompanied by West Nusa Tenggara Governor Lalu Muhamad Iqbal, following a coordination meeting on preparations for Eid 2026 transport in Mataram on Saturday (28 February 2026).

He noted that concerns about aircraft ticket prices, which are claimed to remain high, need to be viewed comprehensively. According to him, ticket prices can be influenced by supply and demand availability. During the Eid holiday travel period, demand often spikes relative to aircraft fleet readiness.

“This often causes ticket prices to rise sharply. So this involves supply and demand factors, where there are occasions where tickets may be perceived as somewhat expensive,” he said.

Purwagandhi assured that discount provision would be strictly monitored to ensure the public genuinely experiences lower ticket prices during the Eid 2026 holiday travel period.

“However, we assure you that the implementation of this stimulus will be strictly monitored so that the public can truly feel that there is a reduction in ticket prices,” he stressed.
