Ministry of Transport Opens Free Mudik Registration from 1 March 2026: Registration Link, Quotas, Routes, and Schedule

The Ministry of Transport (Kemenhub), through the Directorate General of Land Transportation, has officially opened registration for a free homecoming programme beginning in early March for those planning to return to their home regions during the 2026 Eid holiday.

This programme is intended as a solution for travellers seeking a safe, comfortable return home without incurring transportation costs.

Registration opens daily from 1 to 15 March 2026, beginning at 08:00 Western Indonesian Time, and will close once daily quotas are filled. The Directorate General of Land Transportation stated on its official Instagram account (@ditjen_hubdat) that registrations will automatically close once available quotas are met, urging members of the public to register promptly at the Kemenhub free mudik 2026 registration link before slots run out.

In addition to buses and trains, free mudik via sea vessel is also available, though detailed information has yet to be released by the Directorate General of Marine Transportation (DJPL). Interested participants wishing to utilise free sea transport can regularly monitor the official Instagram account @djplkemenhub151 for further details.

Routes are available to Central Java, the Special Region of Yogyakarta, and East Java.
