Ministry of Transport Launches Unified Eid Transportation Command Centre to Monitor Mudik Flow
The Ministry of Transport (Kemenhub) has inaugurated the Unified Central Command Centre for Eid Transportation for 2026. The command centre was established to ensure the smooth operation and safety of the Eid holiday homecoming period.
The launch took place at the Mataram Building of the Ministry of Transport headquarters in Central Jakarta on Friday, 13 February 2026. The event was attended by 1,072 participants both in-person and online.
Minister of Transport Dudy Purwagandhi officially launched the command centre. Various officials attended the opening, including Deputy Minister of Transport Suntana, Chief of Police Traffic Corps (Kakorlantas) Irjen Agus Suryonugroho, Head of the National Search and Rescue Agency (Basarnas) Air Vice-Marshal Mohammad Syafii, Head of the Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysical Agency (BMKG) Teuku Faisal Fathani, President Director of PT Jasa Marga Rivan Achmad Purwantono, and other stakeholders.
“In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious and Merciful, I hereby officially declare open the unified central command centre for Eid transportation for 2026, the year 1447 in the Islamic calendar,” said Dudy.
The unified command centre began operations today and will run until 30 March 2026. A total of 1,560 nodes and networks have been established across various types of vehicles.
The Minister explained that the command centre will serve as the national coordination hub during the 2026 mudik season. The centre is expected to strengthen inter-agency coordination.
“This command centre serves as the national coordination hub with the function of monitoring the operational conditions of transportation during the Eid holiday season. It accelerates coordination between agencies and ensures that every development in the field can be handled quickly and appropriately,” he said.
The Minister noted that approximately 143 million people are expected to travel during the 2026 Eid holiday season. The Ministry will make efforts to provide the best services for travellers.
“The potential movement of people is approximately 143.9 million individuals who will travel during this year’s Eid holiday,” explained Dudy.
