Ministry of Transport and GoTo Facilitate Free Mudik Travel Programme for Gojek Driver Partners
The Ministry of Transport has collaborated with PT GoTo Gojek Tokopedia Tbk (GoTo) to facilitate Gojek driver partners and their families in returning to their hometowns through the free GoMudik homecoming programme.
The Coordinating Minister for Infrastructure and Regional Development, Agus H. Yudhoyono (AHY), stated that the programme forms part of collective efforts to support safe and planned homecoming travel whilst aligning with the government’s annual agenda to reduce traffic congestion during the Eid holiday period.
“Concrete steps such as GoMudik demonstrate how synergy between government and the private sector can help expand access to safer, more comfortable and affordable mobility for the public, whilst strengthening inter-regional connectivity during the Eid homecoming period,” said AHY at the Pulo Gebang Integrated Terminal in East Jakarta on Friday, 13 March 2026.
GoTo Chief Executive Officer Hans Patuwo explained that the company has prepared five destinations for outbound and return journeys for driver partners and their families. Participants are dispatched from Jakarta’s Pulo Gebang Integrated Terminal to various destinations in West Java, Central Java, East Java and Sumatra, including Kuningan, Semarang, Surabaya, Lampung and Palembang. Additionally, GoTo has arranged buses at five return departure points in the same regions.
“Through GoMudik, we wish to support driver partners so they can reunite with their families peacefully, safely and comfortably. This programme forms part of our commitment to continue supporting the welfare of driver partners and their families,” said Hans.
The Minister of Transport, Dudy Purwagandhi, welcomed the GoMudik initiative, which aligns with the Ministry of Transport’s efforts to mobilise safer and more organised passenger flows during the Eid holiday season.
“Through well-documented management of departure and arrival points, this programme also helps reduce congestion from independent travel and supports well-managed mobility systems,” he said.
As part of GoMudik’s facilities, GoTo is also distributing GoFood vouchers to driver partners participating in the programme, enabling them to explore local cuisine in destination cities whilst supporting the growth of local culinary micro, small and medium enterprises.
