Ministry of Transmigration partners with Folago to boost MSME digitalisation in transmigration areas
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Ministry of Transmigration (Kementrans) has partnered with PT Folago Global Nusantara Tbk to support the strengthening of the creative economy, MSME digitalisation, and internet access provision across various regions, including transmigration areas.
Minister of Transmigration M. Iftitah Sulaiman Suryanagara stated that the collaboration with the digital media and technology company aligns with the goals of one of Kementrans’ flagship programmes, Transmigrasi Gotong Royong.
“Transmigrasi Gotong Royong is based on the understanding that transmigration areas cannot grow economically without collaboration and synergy from all parties,” said M. Iftitah Sulaiman Suryanagara during the signing of the Folago All Stars Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in Jakarta on Monday.
He noted that transmigration areas already possess economic assets such as land and human resources, but their development is hindered by unequal access to capital, technology, and markets.
“There are many opportunities for collaboration to open up market access and increase economic value in transmigration areas,” Iftitah said.
In addition to supporting MSMEs and businesses in transmigration areas, the collaboration also forms part of strengthening the national creative economy ecosystem through synergy between the government, digital platforms, influencers, celebrities, and creative industry players under the Folago All Stars initiative.
Minister of Creative Economy (Ekraf) Teuku Riefky Harsya said the creative industry has become a new engine of national economic growth, making a significant contribution to employment and Indonesia’s digital economy.
Meanwhile, Minister of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (UMKM) Maman Abdurrahman stated that collaborations with influencers and content creators should not only focus on product promotion but also on strengthening product quality and the fundamental aspects of MSMEs to ensure sustainable growth.
Folago CEO Subioto Jingga stated his company is ready to drive the development of transmigration areas through strengthening the digital and creative economy ecosystems.
“We want Indonesian MSMEs, from major cities to transmigration areas, to have equal opportunities to grow, gain recognition, and advance,” he said.
He added that the company would also support affordable internet provision and the organisation of creative economy activities in various transmigration areas.
“For all MSMEs in Java, Maluku, and Papua, we will provide free internet to support MSMEs and creative entrepreneurs across Indonesia. Additionally, in transmigration areas, we will support affordable internet,” said Subioto Jingga.
Several celebrities present at the Folago All Stars MoU signing included Arya Saloka, Baim Wong, Tya Ariestya, Chicco Jerikho, Wulan Guritno, Kimberly Ryder, and Christoffer Nelwan.
