Ministry of Transmigration Opens Registration for TEP 2026: Requirements, Schedule, and Link
The Ministry of Transmigration (Kementrans) has opened registration for the Patriot Expedition Team (TEP) for 2026. The programme will send the nation’s best sons and daughters to Papua and other regions to serve for the progress of the country. Participants in TEP will receive benefits including opportunities for master’s scholarships, four months of field experience in transmigration areas, pocket money, soft skills development, and tangible contributions to the economic development of remote regions. What are the requirements needed? See the full details below! What is the Patriot Expedition Team? The TEP 2026 programme is an effort by Kementrans to conduct research and development in transmigration areas. This programme is an implementation of Ministerial Regulation on Transmigration No. 3 of 2026. The implementation of the TEP 2026 programme will collaborate with 10 of the best universities as partners. The ten universities include: Universitas Padjadjaran, Universitas Airlangga, Universitas Hasanuddin, Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember, Universitas Indonesia, Universitas Brawijaya, Institut Teknologi Bandung, Universitas Diponegoro, Universitas Gadjah Mada, and IPB University. The Patriot Expedition Team has 11 priority themes that form the scope of research activities. These include: 1. Governance and agrarian reform. 2. Basic infrastructure and connectivity. 3. Education and health services. 4. Downstreaming and industrialisation. 5. Economic institutions. 6. Human resource capacity. 7. Productive economy. 8. Digitalisation. 9. Green economy and tourism ecosystem. 10. Appropriate innovation and technology. 11. Renewable energy. Requirements for TEP 2026 Registrants How many registrants will be accepted as participants? TEP 2026 allocates around 1,458 people. The participants will later be divided into 41 National Priority Transmigration Areas, 10 Transmigration Areas on Papua Island, and 2 Ministry Priority Transmigration Areas. TEP registrants can register as team leaders or team members. The requirements are as follows: 1. TEP Leader • Indonesian citizen/foreign national. • Physically and mentally healthy. • Minimum master’s education (proven by diploma). • Has reputable international scientific publications. • Experienced in leading research/study/accompaniment teams (at least 2 times). • Has received national/international research grants. • Able to develop ideas/concepts related to transmigration areas, proven by attaching an abstract proposal. • Has high integrity and commitment. • Able to work in a team and communicate with stakeholders. • Willing to follow all programme activities. 2. TEP Member • Indonesian citizen/foreign national. • Physically and mentally healthy. • Minimum bachelor’s graduate. • Has experience in scientific works (at least in the form of thesis/final project or similar). • Experienced as a member of research/study/accompaniment teams. • Has high integrity and commitment. • Able to work in a team and communicate with stakeholders. • Willing to follow all programme activities.
