Ministry of Transmigration Opens Registration for Patriot Expedition Team 2026 Until 21 May
The orientation is practical action in the field, including addressing basic needs in transmigration areas. Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Ministry of Transmigration (Kementrans) is opening registration for the 2026 Patriot Expedition Team (TEP) from 1 to 21 May for university graduates with at least a Diploma IV (D4) to conduct research, mentoring, and community development in 53 transmigration areas across Indonesia. Transmigration Minister M Iftitah Sulaiman Suryanagara stated that the focus of this year’s TEP programme is practical actions that directly impact the improvement of community welfare in transmigration areas, no longer limited to mapping economic potential as in the previous year. “If previously (TEP) focused on research and mapping economic potential, now it is directed towards empowerment and community mentoring. The orientation is practical action in the field, including addressing basic needs in transmigration areas,” said M Iftitah Sulaiman Suryanagara in Jakarta on Saturday. Due to this shift in focus, the number of involved transmigration areas has been reduced. In 2025, participants were sent to all 154 transmigration regions in Indonesia, but this year they will only be assigned to 53 transmigration regions. These regions include national priority transmigration areas in Aceh, West Sumatra, South Sumatra, Bengkulu, West Kalimantan, Central Kalimantan, West Nusa Tenggara, East Nusa Tenggara, West Sulawesi, Southeast Sulawesi, South Sulawesi, up to North Maluku. In addition, the programme also covers transmigration areas and national priorities in Papua, as well as Ministry of Transmigration priority areas, such as Barelang in the Riau Islands and Bahari Tomini Raya in Central Sulawesi. Iftitah stated that the 2026 TEP programme is open to graduates or alumni with Diploma IV (D4), Bachelor’s (S1), Master’s (S2), or Doctoral (S3) degrees from all universities across Indonesia. However, participants can only register through one of the 10 main partner universities for the programme, namely Universitas Indonesia, Universitas Gadjah Mada, Institut Teknologi Bandung, IPB University, Universitas Diponegoro, Universitas Padjadjaran, Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember, Universitas Airlangga, Universitas Brawijaya, and Universitas Hasanuddin. Through the TEP programme, Kementrans invites Indonesia’s young generation to take part in building the nation from transmigration areas, strengthening community welfare, and realising equitable, inclusive, and sustainable development throughout Indonesia.
