Ministry of Trade introduces new features to InaExport digital platform
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Ministry of Trade (Kemendag) has introduced new features to the InaExport digital platform to expand export market access for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), as well as businesses in rural areas.
“In reality, the InaExport platform has existed for quite some time, but we are now implementing several new features, and the InaExport digital platform can now facilitate transactions. Therefore, through this platform, there will be a B2B (business-to-business) transaction feature,” said Minister of Trade Budi Santoso in Jakarta on Tuesday.
According to the Minister, there is vast potential for MSME products in Indonesia to be exported, necessitating a platform to increase visibility and reach potential buyers, both domestically and abroad.
“We have many products; our MSMEs produce high-quality goods, but we need markets and showcases to promote those products. One such method is through the InaExport platform,” said Budi.
“This is also in line with the concept of discovery commerce. Discovery commerce is about how products find consumers through algorithms, videos, and so on. This is what is currently happening within the developing digital creativity landscape,” added Minister Budi.
Meanwhile, the Director General of National Export Development at the Ministry of Trade, Fajarini Puntodewi, stated that the transformation of the InaExport platform is deemed relevant to increasingly intense global trade competition.
“Consequently, Indonesian exporters are required to obtain information more quickly, identify market opportunities, meet various requirements, and respond to market demands,” said Fajarini.
“These conditions demonstrate the importance of a single, integrated, and easily accessible export service ecosystem that can support exporters from the preparation stage through to the facilitation of export transactions,” she said.
“Through this transformation, InaExport will no longer merely serve as an information source, but is being developed as a single service gateway connecting exporters, export support services, buyers, and global market opportunities, with the goal of driving increased market access and facilitating export transactions,” she added.
