Ministry of Tourism Supports Jazz Gunung 2026 to Strengthen Mountain Tourism Appeal
The Ministry of Tourism supports the implementation of the BRI Jazz Gunung Series 2026 as an effort to strengthen the appeal of mountain tourism while simultaneously driving economic growth for communities in the host regions. Ni Komang Ayu Astiti, Assistant Deputy for National Events at the Ministry of Tourism, stated that Jazz Gunung serves as an example of an event capable of blending entertainment, culture, and tourism to deliver positive regional impacts.
“The success of the BRI Jazz Gunung Series can serve as inspiration for developing similar events in other regions of Indonesia that possess natural and cultural strengths,” Komang said during a press conference in Jakarta. She noted that the event does not only present high-quality musical performances but also stimulates local economic activities and strengthens the regional tourism sector. She added that continued support and collaboration from various stakeholders are essential to broaden the benefits for the community and the tourism industry.
The BRI Jazz Gunung Series 202<0xE2><0x80><0x89>6 carries the theme “Jazztination,” combining the experience of enjoying jazz music with the charm of mountain destinations. This year, the event series will take place at two locations: BRI Jazz Gunung Slamet on 27 June 2026 in Wanawisata Baturraden, Banyumas, Central Java, and BRI Jazz Gunung Bromo from 18 to 25 July 2026 in Sukapura, Probolinggo Regency, East Java.
In addition to music concerts, the organisers will present various supporting activities, such as art exhibitions, MSME markets, and nature- and culture-based tourism activities to enrich the visitor experience. Sigit Pramono, one of the founders of Jazz Gunung Indonesia, stated that the event is built through cross-sector collaboration involving creative economy players, the tourism sector, MSMEs, local communities, and residents. The peak of the BRI Jazz Gunung Bromo series will be held on 24-25 July 2026 at the Jiwa Jawa Resort Bromo Amphitheatre, featuring various jazz and multi-genre musicians from both domestic and international stages.
