Jakarta — Indonesia’s Ministry of Tourism is conducting the #GoBeyondOrdinary campaign at the ITB Berlin 2026 tourism trade fair to attract potential tourists capable of generating increased foreign exchange revenue for the country.

According to a ministry press statement confirmed in Jakarta on Thursday, Tourism Minister Widiyanti Putri Wardhana stated that the #GoBeyondOrdinary campaign emphasises creating added value through inclusivity, sustainability, and quality tourism experiences.

The Ministry of Tourism is presenting the Indonesia Pavilion to attract potential tourists at the ITB Berlin 2026 fair, taking place on 3–5 March in Germany.

The tourism service promotion initiative involves 93 tourism industry operators from 11 Indonesian provinces, including accommodation providers, tourism destination management companies, travel agencies or tour operators, tourism villages, restaurants, and other tourism service providers.

Prospective buyers of tourism services who met at the Indonesia Pavilion came from Europe (88.38 percent), Asia (10.29 percent), America (2.73 percent), Australia (1.17 percent), Africa (0.78 percent), and the Middle East (0.65 percent).

Additionally, the Ministry of Tourism is conducting a pre-fair sales mission for ITB Berlin 2026 from 23 to 26 February 2026 in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, and in the German cities of Düsseldorf and Stuttgart.

During the sales mission, the ministry attracted 63,519 potential tourists capable of generating foreign exchange worth Rp1.98 trillion.

Altogether, the Ministry of Tourism attracted a total of 542,953 potential tourists capable of generating foreign exchange worth Rp16.89 trillion from ITB Berlin 2026 and the pre-fair sales missions.

A post-fair sales mission will be conducted in Warsaw (Poland), Budapest (Hungary), Zagreb (Croatia), and Milan (Italy) from 9 to 16 March 2026.

The implementation of these activities involves the Indonesian Travel Agencies Association (ASITA) and Indonesian embassies in each city.

During her working visit to Germany, the Tourism Minister also attended bilateral meetings with UN Tourism Secretary-General Shaikha Al Nowais and Indian Tourism and Culture Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat.

Additionally, the Tourism Minister received the Travellers’ Choice Awards Best of the Best Destination from the TripAdvisor platform and visited the Haus der Indonesischen Kulturen in Berlin.
